The duration of therapy can vary depending on the individual's needs and goals. Some people may benefit from a few sessions, while others may require ongoing therapy for several months or even years. We recommend starting weekly or biweekly for the first few sessions and then reassessing frequency with your therapist.

Before your first session, you will be asked to complete an intake and consent form. During your first session, your therapist will go over these forms and typically ask you about your history and current concerns. You will discuss your goals for therapy and have the opportunity to ask questions. The first 2 or 3 sessions are helpful to determine if you and your therapist are well suited to work together.

Yes. Therapy provided by a Registered Social Worker (RSW) has been eligible to be claimed as a medical expense when filing your income tax return since September 26, 2012. Registered Social Workers are considered "medical practitioners" for the purposes of claiming medical expenses on your tax return.

We require 24 hours cancellation notice. If you miss this window or don’t show up for your appointment time, a cancellation/no-show fee of half the original session cost will be charged.

Yes, we hold a limited number of sliding scale spaces with priority given to Black, Indigenous, racialized folks and 2SLGBTQ folks. Currently all our sliding scale spaces are full.

Services provided by a registered social worker (RSW) are accepted by most insurance companies, however it is best to double check with your provider before scheduling .

Payment for sessions can be made through e-transfer. We do not bill directly to insurance companies; you will receive a PDF with your receipt after your session, which you can use for your insurance claim.

Sessions are offered either online or by phone. Online video sessions are conducted through the Jane App, a secure and confidential software.
